UW Meany Hall, March 10, 2008, 7:30p.m.–”Can’t stop praising his name, i just can’t stop praising his name, JESUS!”

Indeed, this last song in which we exited out of the stage to was apt to describe my feelings when I exit out of the spotlights that had been shining brilliantly on us for the past 1 hour.

it was the day of my gospel choir, after 10 weeks of staying back every monday evening to practice, and calling the husky nightwalk service to bring me back home when it is dark. i really enjoyed every moment as i stood up on stage, being expressive in my singing, dancing, swaying. i was so comfortable on stage. it reminded me of my love for performance once again. I was glad that the GIP people i dragged to the concert enjoyed it. it was great seeing huy in the crowd, but studying! oh my gosh.

the gospel choir was dynamic and powerful and totally engaged! The best part was having the audience stand up on their own accord and started dancing and singing along with us!

Brydwell, my choir director wrote in an email the next day:

Good morning to everyone.

Your performance last night was wonderful!!!

You looked engaged and that came across loud and clear to your audience.

On my way to my car, I passed through the lobby and noticed that people
were not leaving.

I received many compliments on your behalf as I passed through a very
large crowd.

What fun to see people not in a hurry to move out.

Rebecca, we thank you for all of the work you have done for the gospel
choir.

We will certainly miss you.

Please come back and visit us.

And thanks to all of the musicians who made us sound REAL good.

Good luck on your finals and then enjoy your break!

Rebecca is our teaching assistant, always like a mother hen to the whole class. i have always been bugging her after class, “err, what did brydwell just say? when is the last day of class? what are we supposed to do for the term paper???” ahha, she is graduating this quarter and will not be part of the choir anymore.

i enjoyed the whole concert. when will i ever have the chance to sing in a gospel choir ever again? gospel choir is a very american thing, and singapore won’t have it. im glad i have the chance to be part of it at UW. :)

This perhaps sums up what i felt that night: “O Lord, our Lord, how excellant is thy name!”-Psalm 8 by Richard Smallwood.
