UW–it was our last class for winter quarter before we break for spring! i gathered the courage to ask a bunch of ang mos, who don’t really know me well to take a class photos for my UW memorabilia. they were all very obliging and took photos with me. I was glad i took up the courage to ask as it was a once in a lifetime experience.
I am sad to leave my voice class the most. Those are the people i always have lunch with, go to concerts with, and learn together with, and encourage and criticize each other’s singing with. I hope we can meet up again in our next voice class. I miss Tess, my teacher, who is so bubbly and encouraging. Such a joy to be around her! but i will be taking one of her class next quarter again. she is throwing a after-winter quarter party, and i wont be in town for that. guess i have to throw my own party before i leave the states!
I met two native indians in UW today. i have been wanting to meet one real, and modern one! i met 2! they are part of the communications department’s project called native voices, where native students learn documentary and film making related to their industries. this is to increase the number of natives in the media industry. I learned that UW will have a POW-WOW in Spring, a native song and dance festival where native food and goods will be sold. i got wanbli to bring me to his own tribe’s POW-WOW one weekend during spring! i hope this materializes!
I formed a foodies club with KC Cowen, a girl in my feature writing class. she loves food and so do i. so i asked her if she wants to hang out over the weekend to go around eating. she said yes and even asked if i want to come over to her place! im so excited. Hope this materializes as well.
well, when winter ends, it means the start of exams. i only have one paper on monday, the rest of my classes are non-examinable! this winter quarter has been an eventful one, and with the experiences i got, im sure i will be able to adapt to spring better!
