Northgate–today is probably the last day i will ever see Devi again. It is our farewell lunch. it wasnt really like a farewell farewell, more like a get-together. she brought a friend along too, so it was more vibrant. all of them were indonesians, so it felt a bit like home, talking about our country and singapore.
devi brought me to this neighborhood cafe called indocafe, where she swears by it. she dines there at least once a week. we started with a starter of some tofu with peanut sauce and fish and chicken. then i ordered nasi kuning komplitt. it was merely yellow rice, fried chicken and prawn crackers. it tasted good, but nothing taste better than the ones we had in the villagers’ homes during our REAL mission trip 2006.
and i found out that it is very common to have a chauffer in indonesia. and i made a fool out of myself and telling them that, “hey you know olivia, our voice classmate is super rich? she has a chauffer in indonesia!” and they went like…”eyyy…” haha.
i didnt feel so sad about saying goodbye, i felt that one week in seattle is still considered long!
i went to northgate to do some last minute shopping again for singapore. its cheaper here! i walked for 6 hours, killed some calories, i super hope so.
